.Athletics Ontario Masters Council Chair, Doug Smith, was honoured, at the Athletics Ontario Virtual Awards Gala on December 15, 2021, to receive the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers from the Governor General, her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon.
The Queen’s Medal is the highest award given to a Volunteer in Canada.
The MC for the evening was Olympian Kate Van Buskirk, and the video presentation is narrated by David Smith.
